At the 57th Annual Meeting and Convention of the New Hampshire Credit Union League (NHCUL), held at the Balsams Grand Resort, June 10-12, 2011, Brian F. Hughes was elected to NHCUL’s Board of Directors.
Dixville Notch, NH—At the 57th Annual Meeting and Convention of the New Hampshire Credit Union League (NHCUL), held at the Balsams Grand Resort, June 10-12, 2011, Brian F. Hughes was elected to NHCUL’s Board of Directors. Currently a member of the NHCUL Community Outreach, and Federal and State Legislative/Political Fundraising Committees, Hughes also served on the Bylaws and Resolution Committee.
“I’m honored to be serving on the NHCUL Board of Directors. This is a very exciting time for the credit union industry and for the NHCUL. Here in New Hampshire, the credit union industry is seeing strong growth in membership, assets and loans. All while offering consumers lower fees and higher yields on their investments” said Hughes. “Credit unions in New Hampshire take tremendous pride in meeting the financial needs of their members, while also meeting the needs of New Hampshire’s underserved. An example is through the NHCUL’s partnership with More Than Wheels,” added Hughes “Credit unions throughout the state are assisting low to moderate income families obtain reliable, safe automobiles at a competitive rate via NHCUL member credit unions.”
A credit union professional with three decades of experience, Hughes was hired as President and CEO of Rochester-based Holy Rosary Credit Union of New Hampshire (HRCU) in 2004. During his tenure as President and CEO, HRCU’s institutional assets have grown from $100 million to $170 million. The credit union was named 2011 Business of the Year, by the Dover, NH Chamber of Commerce and is very involved both financially and through volunteering with local charities, various fundraisers and giving to various youth groups throughout the Seacoast.
A resident of Greenland, Hughes received both his Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Management from Bridgewater State University. Hughes has generously given back to the Rochester community by serving on the Board of Directors of: Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce; Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester Opera House, Rochester Country Club and served on the Rochester Main Street – Economic Development Committee. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow through the Rochester Rotary.
